Pregnancy

Hello.
I'm 35 yrs old.  Want to get pregnant.  Have gone to Gyno - he did all sorts of tests on me an my husband - all was fine- except my progesterone.
My periods are irregular - btwn 38-42 days long.  I've tracked my bbt, and it does dip when its supposed to - and then goes up - and I've also used the fertility monitor - and it shows a ovulation at the same time as when my temp dips.  However, the one progesterone test showed that there was an issue.
Dr. put me on Clomid - tried one cycle w/o success.
Meanwhile developed Thyroid nodules and hyperthyroid and therefore have to discontinue Clomid.

Q: Is it possible for me to get pregnant w/o Clomid.
If not, are there other drugs I can use while I have this thyroid problem (which the Dr. has said is due to Clomid)?
Very upset - and worried that I may not be able to have kids.
Thank you.

Yes, it is possible to get pregnant without clomid.  However, I think it is very important to fix your thyroid problem before getting pregnant because thyroid problems--in this case "thyroid nodules and hyperthyroidism" can effect your ability to get pregnant and if you do get pregnant can cause problems with your pregnancy if not corrected. So, I recommend going to your doctor to correct the thyroid problems first before taking any other fertility medications. He or she may refer you to an Endocrinologist that specializes in thyroid problems.
In fact, if their thyroid problem is treated, many women, then do not have problems getting pregnant but others require fertility medications even after their thyroid is normalized.
There are other medications you can take besides clomid if you do not get pregnant after your thyroid is normalized.
In addition, it is unlikely that clomid caused your thyroid problem.
