No not nececassirly, The history part it could point to it like history of irregular cycles, increased hair growth on the body, acne, weight gain. But the other components that help doctors diagnosis PCOS would be done with a transvaginal ultrasound and lab tests.
Would PCOS be something that is found in a regular yearly pelvic exam?
If you were not regular before you started your pills and now you are again irregular then it may be reverting back to your previous cycle pattern. However, if you do have cycles every 65 days when off the pill, this is definitely not normal and you should see your doctor. Your doctor would likely do blood tests and from your history, and from an ultrasound of your ovaries determine the diagnosis of why you may have abnormal periods. Common diagnosis for irregular periods can be polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS, associated with increased hair on the body and often weight gain), Stress-induced anovulation or amenorrhea, and thyroid disorders. Your doctor can determine the diagnosis and recommend treatment accordingly. I wish you the best.
