I was given a dianosis of ibs from a gi after few tests fobt, digital rectal, cbc plus other bloods and the doc feeling and taping my stomach. due to the fact that my stools got bigger whilst on holiday he gave me that dianosis. My stools are stil very thin and flat and also have very watery stool and mucous covered. i have pain in my lower left stomach. I have also found a fleshy growth near my anus (just above it) and have had anal pain that lasted a day. Iv started taking bulking fibres again and there not helpin with size of my stool. Iv gone to my docs and hes just saying its ibs the gi told u it was. Please can any1 give me advice

fleshy growth near your anus is hemorrhoid usually happens if you sit too much on toilet for too long. This isn't dangerous , for this I did surgery in February and now there is no pain. Hemorrhoid are usual symptom in patients with IBS

Get a second opinion. Given your symptoms and level of pain it seems like more things should have been ruled out before the doctor landed on IBS. I was diagnosed years ago, but only after I had upper and lower GI series and a sigmoidoscopy to rule out inflammatory bowel, ulcers, and other problems.

Did you see a gatroenterologist or an internist/PCP... I would get a second opinion from an experienced gatroenterologist. Ask around for a respected one in your area.
