Thanks... I have had gerd for years, seems controlled... this is the first episode of this but it has lasted for going on 2 months.  I have started additional B vitamins, ALA, and Mg.  Any other suggestions?  What are the best recommendations for daily pain relief.  gets worse by mid afternoon and evening... mornings pretty good.  I use lots of sugarless cough drops, spray with chloroseptic numbing spray, lots of water, brush teeth and tongue with baking soda... making my life miserable.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi, burning mouth syndrome with IBS can occur due to nutritional causes. If the diet has inadequate vitamins and minerals it can cause the burning mouth syndrome. Another cause is if you have associated GERD, (Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease), where the acid contents of the stomach come up into the esophagus, this could also cause burning mouth syndrome. And sometimes with excessive antibiotic use, there could be fungal growth leading to burning mouth syndrome. Regards.
