Digestive

Im sorry to bother you with this;  I have, over the past month completely withdrawn from Oxycontin neo. (had been on 60mg/day for about 12yrs). I have severe FMS/CFS and osteoarthritis (2 knees replacements and full skeletal involvement), as well as most of the illnesses under the FMS umbrella.  I was dx with IBS when I was 28 and am now 52. I went through a treatment 10 years ago for high levels of that gut bacteria (sorry..cant remember the name) which contributes to Gastric reflux disease. Have that as well. Taking Nexium 40mg. but usually only need 1 caplet/week now.    SO short story long,...for the past 2 weeks my bowel movements are what I would call "acidic". Yellowish/orange and rather explosive. I tend to have 3-4/day.
My stomach has been feeling uncomfortable and lightly achey.
I would certainly appreciate your input and suggestions about this.
Many thanks in advance.  BJMoore

Thank-you for your reply. I did do some reviewing of the symptoms and asides from the "obvious", my stomach was very tender.  It would seem that as well as the IBS acting-up, I was also experiencing a flare of my gastric reflux disease.  Once I returned to the medication for this....my symptoms have become manageable again.
Again, I do appreciate your time.
Regards,
BJM

Hi, check to see if any changes in diet are causing this. Maintain a food diary and try to identify those foods which are likely to produce these symptoms and avoid them. Besides, irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) other causes which can produce these symptoms include malabsorption, inflammatory bowel diseases and various infections of the colon. If your symptoms persist, please consult your primary care physician for further evaluation. Regards.
