How to deal with leaky bowel disorder?

HELP!!  I have leaky bowel disorder and don't know how to deal with it.  At first the MD thought it might be due to enlarged hemorroids and a slighty weakened spihincter muscle.  He ligated the hemorroids but there is still some leakage  for several hours after a bowel movement.  It is driving me crazy trying to keep clean and be comfortable.  If anyone knows anything about this pleasel let me know.  I would love some advice and support on this.
Thanks.

Thank you so much for that information.  It's the first I have heard of it and am anxious to look into it further.  My doctor is a rectal and colon specialist (proctologist) and has not mentioned it to me.  Do you know what other speciality deals with this?
Thank you again. I am so appreciative.  If anything comes of this I will let you know.

Hey romie24.

I would suggest you try adding some bulk fiber in the diet to absorb excess liquid.
If that does not work, and having all other options explored,  there's a fairly new treatment
available, to be considered.
Solesta, a bulking agent, is injected just under the anus lining.  The idea is to expand the area tissue, narrowing the anus opening, thus gaining better control.
My opinion is that this procedure along with the first suggestion together, may offer
some promise for treatment.
Please discuss all this with your doctor. Should he not be knowledgeable enough in this area of medicine, he should refer you to a specialist.
Hope this helps.
Blessings,
Nikodicreta
