First: I realize Venora is, like me, wishing to be helpful. However, do NOT take ibuprofen!!!! If you really must take an anti-inflammatory like choose Tylenol or its cheaper derivatives. Ibuprofen is now known to cause severe bowel inflammation and possible bleeding. In fact, when I had a colonoscopy two years ago I thought I'd be smart and show up with color pictures from a colonoscopy years before. The very first thing the gastro asked was, "Were you taking ibuprofen when you had your previous colonoscopy?" I said, "I had and it works well." He explained all the intestinal redness and inflammation in the picture could very well have resulted from Ibuprofen. Thus, he could not use the picture as an indicator of any illness at that time.
Like you my bowel movements are quite an experience and getting worse. I haven't answers but you're atleast not alone. I've read fiber is good and I've read to stay away from fiber to give our intestinal tract time to heal a bit. I dunno... Something is causing these flare-ups so what in the world triggers them?
It appears to me you do have hemmoroids, which become increasingly irritated during a prolonged BM. Like you I am also very uncomfortable throughout my lower bowels at those times, though I don't know why defacating causes so much discomfort. Often within a hafl hour AFTER a BM my digestive tract really flares up for hours, accompanied by substantial fatigue. What an over all body response to a BM!
If anyone else out there has figured out how to reduce those flare ups please let us know.
Thanks,
Michael
p.s. rdubbs, please see your doctor for a much needed exam! We can all hypothesize in this forum but it's YOUR health - and we're not in a position to actually know what ails you.
