Which doctor to see next?

I'm not looking for a diagnosis, I just need to know where to go next. I've been having constipation and bloating since August. It gets worse at times of severe stress. When I first saw the doctor in November, she did blood work and a CT scan. All was normal. I felt better for a few months.

It started again in March, and this time, it included a dull, grinding ache in my lower right abdomen that comes and goes. I saw my OB, she sent me for a pelvic ultrasound; all was normal. I saw a gastroenterologist, he sent me for more blood work (all was normal, except I'm anemic, which is unusual because I have a Mirena IUD and no longer have a period) and did a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy. All of that was normal. I'm scheduled for follow up bloodwork soon. I'm still having constipation and lower right abdominal pain. They are all assuming I have IBS, but the drugs for IBS do not relieve the pain at all. I always associated IBS with cramping type pain; this is not like that. It also gets worse after intercourse. I can manage the constipation with large doses of Miralax, but the pain is not relieved.

I feel like all my doctors have washed their hands because all the tests come back with normal results, but I'm stuck with the symptoms.

This is going to sound odd - - but have you, by any chance, tried doing yoga?  If you haven't, then I expect it will seem like a chore to find a 3 x week class and go, come rain or come shine, for 3 months.  On the other hand, I would also expect that having completed 3 months of yoga you will find great relief for your symptoms.  Good Luck & Good health to you!

I've had the Mirena for 3 years, with no problems up to now. The only thing that is different is that this is the first year that my periods went away almost completely.

The IUD that you have contains progesterone, which can be constipating.  Maybe this is part of the problem.  Did you ever consider removing the IUD to see if that helps the pain?  I hope you find the answer to your problem.
