I have found a lump behind my ear at the hairline. I am not sure whether or not this is related to my other symptoms, but I do know the lymphatic system does extend to that area of the body. Of course I am not trying to worry but as it has been over a year now without answers, and all enlarged lymph nodes are in my abdomen and lungs vicinity along with my enlarged spleen. This is the first time I have actually possibly felt an enlarged lymph node...if that is of course what it is.
Nervous but not sure if I should see my oncologist yet or wait for the planned visit in May.
You're welcome. I hope you get some answers soon!
Thank you for your response. I will keep the community informed on any news whether good or bad that could hopefully help to inform.
Also I hope for a speedy solution for you.
It's difficult to say if they are related or not. It could be a simple case of hives, based off the fact that they come and go. I can tell you're quite concerned over this, especially since you're still waiting for some answer, and that alone could cause hives and itching. What info I could find (medical journals) indicates that swollen mesentric nodes could also be caused by an inflammatory or infectious proccess.
You do have an oncologist, and that's a good thing. IF it is an indolent lymphoma, he may feel, based off your history and previous CT scans that a watch and wait approach is warranted. The not knowing is the most difficult thing. You're in limbo, not knowing where to turn. I haven't dealt with cancer myself, but my own health issues have been over 5 years in the discovery stage and while we know that I have SFN, we don't know what is causing to try and stop it. My mother has CLL out of remission, with what I believe are B symptoms, but they are still watching and waiting. So I do understand your frustration.
Please stay in touch. I can't help you get a diagnosis any sooner, but I can at least be here if you need to rant.
Keeping you in my thoughts!
