I am 42 yrs old. In April of 2011, after months of exhaustion, pain and a progressive swelling in my neck and little bumps on the back of the neck I went to the er. My chief complaint was swelling in the neck, exhaustion, and pain. The Dr dismissed the swelling as a pulled muscle (yea...now I know better). They ordered lab work but didn't wait for it before releasing me stating I was in pain and seeking pain meds (wrong, I was already on pain meds). Little over 2 months later, almost the entire time in bed, my husbands Dr noticed the lump on my neck which he immediately knew to be a "huge" lymph node. It was larger than at the visit to the ER. Needless to say, the blur of surgery and chemotherapy came....I have CLL and sll. I requested my records from the ER... First, the labs weren't even part of my file, I had to get them separate because they were never reviewed. Second, my wbc was 15.9x10(3). My plates were unreadable, my lymphocytes and monocytes are tagged as "low" and neutrophils "high'. The Dr/surgeon that operated said any, and I mean any Dr should have known that the node was not a pulled muscle, and together with the labs would have indicated at the very least a serious infection.....and at the worst....cancer. they dropped the ball, never called me to tell me....nothing!!!! Those 2 months were the worst, not knowing what was wrong. I could have saved the node with chemotherapy and radiation had they diagnosed me properly. Am I wrong to to after the ER? They were rude, thought I was a drug seeker and just dismissed me. Any help is appreciated
hi everyone. im glad to be part of the community. let's continue reaching out!
hello, I'm 20 years old.
I'm worried I have lymphoma.
I don't have many signs or warming signs besides really itchy skin. I also have a lump on my right clavicle bone near shoulder. Painless. Non movable.
I don't know what else could it be?
how do I post in any of the forums my situation?
I am a 55 year old woman that has been diagnoised with CLL. I found a another small lump on my right breast. Went to have another mamogram done yesterday and the radiologist that reads the xrays compared my last mamo with this one and said it was a lymp node and they are getting bigger. Does this mean my CLL stage is getting worse and will probably have to start treatment? I called my oncologist but they have not returned my call. Scared

Hello,
You said your mother is a breast cancer survivor and she also has Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. So is my mother who is 87 (mastectomy in 2000) She had to have treatment for the CLL due to pain and swollen lymph nodes. She has been very ill fighting off infections, so her treatment has been stopped. Now my older brother (64) found out he has CLL too. Any info on running in the family??
Thanks.
Thank you so very much for all of your help.
God bless you
