subQ rituximab coming for lymphoma

The advantage is a shorter administration time (10 minute injection), supposedly with the same safety.

It uses "Enhanze" delivery:

which has an enzyme that breaks down the subcutaneous structure to allow the large antibodies to pass through. The study was in Europe, not USA.

Hi, Mocha. I would guess that antihistamines and corticosteroids would be given. The subQ admin might take a while to get to the U.S., though. I didn't realize that you still have a port in.

Did you know that there is also a version of rituximab made in India? It's called Reditux. That's an interesting fact, though it won't apply to you.

Merry Christmas to you and yours, Mocha.

Hey Ken,
That is awesome.  I had no idea they were even looking into that possibility but that would be so much more tolerable and no more missing a full day of work.  I wonder if they still have to give Benedril before the injection. If I had that option during my maintenance I would have gotten rid of my port long ago.  :-)
