Liver/Gallbladder Results

Can someone interpret these for me:

Indication: Right upper quadrant pain.

Right upper quadrant ultrasound is performed.

Findings: The hepatic contour and echotexture are unremarkable. No

intrahepatic or extrahepatic biliary ductal dilatation is seen. The

gallbladder is distended without gallstone, gallbladder wall thickening

or pericholecystic fluid. The pancreas is unremarkable. There is no

pancreatic mass. No ascites is seen.

IMPRESSION: Unremarkable right upper quadrant ultrasound.

It sounds like this is a good diagnosis. "Unremarkable" would mean that there is nothing the doctor is seeing that would be a cause of concern. And the smooth contour points to a healthy liver, having no incidence of scarring, which can be seen as more of a rough contour on a diagnostic imaging test. If you're still concerned, I would definitely call the doctor or nurse line and I'm sure they'd be happy to discuss what it means, but it sounds like things are looking good :-)
