High Enzymes

I have had elevated ALT, AST for about two and a half years now.  Not major, just slightly.  I also have two hepatic carnivorous hemangiomas. One is 3.5X3.7 CM the other is 12mm or so and was not present two years ago but was found a year ago on my last MRI.

I have been tired but I am also a busy gal with grad school, work and a family.  I have hashimotos' as well.  i was having pain, but opted for gall bladder removal, I am better now, but my gall bladder was in good condition.

I am wondering what are the next steps.  I have a family history of liver problems, but nothing personal other than this. please advise

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello and hope you are doing well.

Elevated liver enzyme levels can occur with liver disease, but other causes for the enzyme elevation could be muscle disease or injury. Some medications can also raise these levels. Check to see if the medications you are using for hashimotos are causing this effect. If the hemangiomas cause pressure symptoms, then therapy is based on the location. Again a follow up may be mandatory to see for changes in the lesion.

Discuss these options with your consulting doctor.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
