How are liver biopsies done? Inpatient, outpatient?

My liver enzymes are a bit elevated and my doctor told me the next step is a biopsy. Any advice?

I had to go to New Orleans (about 3 hours away) to have my biopsy done. Mine was kinda in/out patient. I stayed @ the Pavillion (kinda like a dorm room area in a wing of the Hospital) over night. They say you need to lay flat for several hours in order for it to not start to bleed. We left the next day. The ride was a little uncomfortable, but after a good nights sleep, all was good.
