I have a lesion caused by my birth control pill...it's called an adenoma. We are also watching it - will repeat cat scan in 6 months. If your insurance company denied an MRI I would absolutely appeal the denial. That's inexcusable.

I would suggest a second opinion. I did! I am now seeing a gastroenterologist who can give me more information.

I am going throught the same thing right now. I had a CT that showed a lesion, then they sent me for an MRI. The MRI confirmed it was a lesion, but they don't know what kind! They told me it could be malignant or benign...Now, I have to wait 3 months and have another MRI to see if it grow or not.

Sorry you are feeling stressed about this. From what I have read, most lesions are caused by drinking, illegal drug abuse, Hep B or C, and so much more.

What did the dr. suggest you do?
