What does your doctor say about it? If you are aware of scarring, you must have had a biopsy? I truly don't know about a red face, everyone is different as far as problems arising from the liver goes. Are you taking care of yourself? And have you considered treatment for the hcv?
As Jody said, the rate fibrosis progression is difficult to predict - it's very individualized.
You can do things to slow it down - like not drinking alcohol and avoiding red meat, fat and raw shell fish and limiting your salt intake. Also avoid non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs - Advil, Motrin and aspirin drugs. Tylenol is OK but not more than 2000 mg. per day.
I've read that ed palms can be associated with cirrhosis but I can't recall anything about a red face. I wouldn't rule it out, however.
I advise that you see a doctor and make some type of plan for going forward. If you can see a hepatologist (liver doctor) that would be ideal. If there are none available in your area then see a reputable gastroenterologist.
Good luck,
Mike
I had hep c since I was in my early mid 20's I am 47 now Liver Doc told me I had stage 2 with some scarring, he held off treatment due to being sucsseful at 40% so I am on waiting list for trial at a hospital, and will start treatment this feb, however I also want to know what Stage 2 is...THANKS EVERYONE
Basically I would think that "stage 2" indicates moderate fibrosis but there are different staging systems so it's not easy to be certain.
I think you will find more information regarding "stage 2" at the following link. By the way, you did undergo a liver biopsy, right?
