ALT value 49 AST at 34

Recently, i have observed that I bled too much for small cuts, I was scared when I checked for symptoms online . So, I decided to consult my PCP about this, he recommended CBC test, PT, PTT ( to check clotting time for blood ) Hepatic Panel ( liver test ) and Lipid Panel ( for cholesterol ).  I have had high cholesterol in the past and I was taking medication for the same, although the cholesterol came down, it was moderately high ( and I wasn't fasting ). Every other test resulted in normal reading except for ALT, which was 49 ( ref. range was 0 to 46 ), AST was 34. PCP suggested that I retake the test after 2 months .

Is the reading 49 for ALT high? I am overweight, bmi is 29.6 and I have had heavy breakfast before the test ( doctor suggested that I take it anyway ). I am really worried if I am troubling my liver or is that a symptom of another serious condition ( like leukemia ). Please help

Your numbers are not alarming, and maybe fatty liver is involved but only your doctor can diagnose that. A followup blood test makes sense but your levels shouldn't worry you. Take care andnlet is know how you are doing.
