you should repeat ASAP and see a GI or liver specialist ASAP
Please do as both Sir_oasis & gilmane suggested. My alt was also off the charts back in 1997 & my family doctor took blood tests on me for 6 months til they came bk to normal. No hcv showed up during those 6 months. In 2002 I was diagnosed with both hcv & aih at stage 3. Get yourself to someone soon, it is most important.
Good luck & let us know how it goes.

According to Labtestonline: Very high levels of ALT (more than 10 times the highest normal level) are usually due to acute hepatitis, often due to a virus infection. In acute hepatitis, ALT levels usually stay high for about 1–2 months, but can take as long as 3–6 months to come back to normal.
EVEN IF THIS IS ONLY A POSSIBILITY GO TO THE NEAREST ER IMMEDIATELY!!! Don't let no insurance turn into no life!
hmmmm - how are you feeling??? If that number level denotes "ALT" - that is quite high. In the old days they called this test just "SGPT", and maybe the numeric values are different for that test.
Have the docs been monitoring your enzyme levels daily? I would gather if it were that high (and the number does correspond to the acronym ALT) that you would be hospitalized and monitored continuously...or aI suppose that reading could have been a mistake/typo).
What does your AST look like? Bilirubin? etc etc?
Insurance or not, if you feel abdominal pain and fullness in your upper right quadrant, and especially if you are yellow tinged, have brownish pee and real pale poop, RUN - dont walk to the nearest ER!!! While you may have no insurance, which admittedly *****, Id rather see that than to have no life! Not trying to alarm you - just dont gamble with your life!
If your taking any tylenol, stop, look back and see if you may have ingested amanita mushrooms or come into contact with ethyl tetrachloride, etc...
Keep us posted
