charlie horse

for about a little over a month now, during sleep, i awake with terrible pain stemming, from what seems to me, "charlie horse" cramps on both my calfs (both legs).  this is now continously every night.  terrible, terrible pain that awakens me.  my choice of drinks is turkey hill peach ice tea.  i am really drinking alot of this especially at night.  could this be causing it ( i have no prior incidents of this) or am I lacking in potassium (could it possibly be the lack of that or something else?).  after the cramping goes down, the pain (muslce pain) remains throughout the day!  please advise and thank you, thank you!

I have decompensated  cirhosis of the liver.  that means it cannot be corrected.  I get charlie horses all the time in my right side.  Even before I had cihrosis and just elevated liver ensymes I got the charlie horses so bad that if I was driving I had to stop for the pain.  I never drank or took drugs so my cirhosis is of unknown origin.  Trouble since I was fourteen years old.  I have been to doctor after doctor for years and years to no avail.  Now I have liver disease to the point of no return.  I am angry at all my past doctors for allowing this to happen to me.  But, now they know alot more about the liver, so hurry call your doctor and take care of it now!!!!!  PJ

There are many causes for your issues which cannot be diagnosed on any health forum. You need to see a doctor and get simple blood work performed. And, yes, liver disease can be one cause for severe night cramps.
