upper right abdominal pain from fatty liver?

Hi I am a 45 year old female. 20-30lbs overweight. I have had a constant pain under my right rib in the abdominal area for over 2 months. It use to be majorly agrivated by food and drink to the point where you could drop to your knees in pain. Upon arising it would then be gone. Now its become a constant pain that radiates front to back and hurts more upon deep breathes. I had an Ultra sound that the Dr.'s thought showed fatty liver so i then took a catscan that showed that not to be the case and liver gallbladder all fine. How can one test show one thing and then  CS show differently?  They don't prescibe any pain killer so I am suffering and now have to wait for an appt. with GI. Don't know what to eat or drink and can't tolerate pain anymore any clues or suggestions?

I would try limit fatty food intake as that could cause as certain conditions could worsen by this type of diet.  Has you Dr. ordered a liver panel?
