elevated ALT

i have tested with elevated ALT of 52 U/L and it says in the range from the form that it suppose standard is <40...
i dont have any problem. my Hepa A and B tested as non reactive i tried to palpate my abdomen if there is a possible pain. as well as i was test before with excessive increase of ALT on 2008 like 450 which range shows that it suppost to be 75 only ! and re tested on 2009 within normal limit..  i am not really sure what is going on and what could have been the problem.

some say that 52 U/L is still in normal range same say it not... please do help me.

if you are female then its definitely abnormal.  a common cause of abnormal liver tests is fatty liver.  you should have an ultrasound performed.

the liver tests may have risen and fallen with the antibiotics.  you could definitely have a degree of fatty liver.  the CXR finding may be nonspecific or could suggest some cardiac issues.  most likley this is an overcall and the CXR is infact normal.  you could get an ECHO performed of the hear for peace of mind.

how old are you?  are you taking any medications? i presume that you have been checked for viral hepatitis.  the liver tests seem to be trending down.  Any intercurrent illness such as flu can also cause the liver tests to rise.

im sorry, didnt get a notification that you answered... im 32 years old.. negative on Hepa A, B nor HIV negative.. .. in 2008 i was taking a amoxicillin due to wounds.. and stop it... before the second test.. and in 2009 i took a herbal liver aid for 3 days and re tested again.... 2011 i took the test while having a amoxillin due to insect bite that cause irritation and wound, and it was taken also right after my vaccination of Hepa A and Anti tetanus/diptheria. .. i was under medical examination for pre employment and had a lot of blood samples taken during test was done.. i dont have any history of liver problem or feel anything unusual, im a moderate drinker (usually drink every weekends) and smoke about 5 stick a day... i guess im a bit overweight based on height and weight,.. could you also help me about chest x-ray which says "Prominent Hilar Vascular Marking" .. increase hilar markings noted, cardio thoracic diameter within normal range, mediastinum is central, bilateral costophrenic angles are clear, bony thorax is normal.. i would appreciate things really well...

thank you doc, wish i could meet you up in person! looking forward to meet you!
