Dr. Schiano,
please help me,
My husband died of liver cancer and now I'm scared for myself. I had a routine exam, here is the report.
Ultrasound shows liver normal 14.8 cm in length demonstrating increased echogenicity compatible with fatty infiltration. There is no intrahepatic biliary dilation. There is a new 0.8 x 0.8 x 0.6 cm echogenic mass within the left lobe posteriorly, possibly hemangioma. There is additionally a new 1.1 x1 x 1.2 cm septated cyst within the right lobe. The gallbladder is unremarkable. No gallstones.
Impression :
Fatty infiltration of the liver with 1.2 cm septated right lobe cyst and 0.8- cm echogenic mass within the left lobe posteriorly, possibly hemangioma.
All I've read online is frightening.
