Hi,
This description refers to a change in the character of lung that is attributed to infection or to inflammation. The lung appears thicker and may appear to contain less air on the Xray or CT. This does not generally mean cancer. Cancers tend to have a more solid appearance and would “occupy more than merely infiltrate”.
