lupus flares

Hi everyone,
I was diagnosed with lupus 1 year ago. At that time, I was prescribed prednisone and plaquenil. Fatigue, joint pain and unexplained fever were reduced after 4 months of taking them though hair loss and dry eyes also began occurring. Now, unluckily, joint pain and tiredness return and make me exhausted. I wonder whether stress and diet cause lupus flares??????

Hi jennifer1303,
you should avoid stress and harmful diet as they trigger your disease. I hope following tips may help you:
- Eat more healthy foods. Try to avoid processed or fried foods. Instead, eat more salmon, broccoli, tuna, flaxseed and fruits
- Avoid stress. You can do anything you like to avoid stress, including watching films,  reading interesting books, listening to music, or hanging out with your friends. Also, remember to reduce your work if you're tired.
- Get enough sleep. Lack of sleep can trigger flares, so you need to sleep at least 8-9 hours each night.
- Do exercise. Exercise may be difficult for you on the first day. You can try some gentle exercises like yoga, Tai Chi or walking
- Find support. If you're under pressure, you should find a trusted person to share your issues.
Lupus flaresmay  come and go many times, so you should have healthy lifetyle habits and diet to reduce flares. Try to avoid stress and harmful diet. Also, you may take supplements to boost your health.

hi, jane1023
thanks for your helpful tips. I'm trying to cut down stress and take rest. Also, i'm focusing on my diet but i can't eat vegetables like spinach or broccoli. Should I take lupufree supplemment? As my grandmother who has lived with lupus 4 years has taken it, the supplement also works well. I wonder whether it works for me??????
I see lots of people have taken lupufree and have good results. You can take it to boost your immune system and prevent flares. But, in case you have another medical condition, you should ask your doctor before using. Hope your disease betters
