What a awful Day

Hi All~

I just wanted to come to a place where everyone understands how I feel. Today and yesterday were horrible days. I got the curse which happened to coincide with the 4 week flare. I have sore  ribs, extreme fatigue and top top it all my doctor called and said I have a major yeast infection. That means more medications.

I sometimes really get so tired of all of this as I'm sure most of you do. The most annyoying thing right now is that my ribs are sore and not sure what to do to help alleviate the pain. Any suggestions?

I'm going back to work on Oct 1st and thought I was ready somewhat,,,,now, not so sure. I try and really ignore some of the symptoms which go away but the rib thing is so annoying.

Any of you know how I feel??? I really feel like crying. I never thought I would get lyme. Now that I do, will it ever get better and just let me live my life in peace.

I'm sorry this is so tough for me. JKV :(

Hi Patsy, Mrs_k75 and gorbybelle,
thanks for all the words of wisdom. I know you have all been there. I don't know what I would have done without this site and the compassionate people who log on.

Well so far this week,,,,been feeling better. I try to keep busy and moving and yes the movement, and warm baths seem to take the edge off the rib pain. The rib pain for me is the worse.
I want to ask the doctor for some pain meds. However with all this other meds I'm on for the lyme, I don't think my system can take much more.

Again, thanks for your support especailly as I go back to work Thursday. JKV

I am right there with you!  The last two days have been so painful!  It does get old, but I've been doing this 4 - 6 week flare for about 3 years now and I just keep trying to remember that it eventually gets alot better and I have a "good" spell.  I just started antibiotics 3 mo ago.

It does get you down and I don't know of any human that it wouldn't depress!  You are not alone and you are not abnormally upset about this.  It hurts and the fatigue zaps the life out of you.  One day I feel like I can take on the world (not manic, but just healthy) and the next I feel like I need a wheelchair.  That's scary for anyone.

I haven't had the rib pain, so I can't comment to that.  I do know that keeping busy helps me, so your going back to work Oct. 1 may not be a  bad thing.  I sometimes wonder if I can walk around at work I'm in so much pain, but I do it anyway.  While I'm busy, it takes my mind off and I'm getting the satisfaction of a paycheck.  Some don't have that luxury (if you want to call working a luxury).  If you can haul yourself in there, try it out.  That's just my experience.  On the other hand, if I get stressed, my symptoms get worse, so hopefully your job is not too stressful.

Definitely post when you need encouragement.  This forum has carried me thru a couple years of this and they always give me a pick me up!  It will be better another day.

Rib pain is common in lymies - I have had it - it is quite often around the breast bone area - where the ribs meet the breast bone - that is often known as 'costochondritis' - I was given antibiotics for that - before I knew about lyme - don't know if the doc. suspected lyme!  Also I have had bad pain in the back rib area - like I would imagine a 'cracked rib' would feel - it went after about a week - it came -on suddenly - then went just as suddenly. Also pain in the sides - around breast area.

I have always found that being in the shower or bath helps a lot with the pain - after a bath/shower I do very gentle excersise - stretching - just moving the painful areas a little - I have found that this seems to 'shorten' the pain flares. I used to sort-of 'freeze-up' and be scared to move when I was in pain but I have come to realise that - for me anyway - movement helps a lot.

I think 'accepting' lyme is part of the battle - I was in denial for a long time - it is odd but since I stopped 'fighting' it - I have milder symptoms - I don't mean giving-up or anything - just relaxing my body.

I have done a lot of crying - because of lyme - as I am sure 'we' all have - I feel that some of my tears were a way for my body to clear out some of the toxins - so crying can be a good thing.

Take care

Gorbs x

I am so sorry to hear about your pain. It is so frustrating with these symptoms because just when you think you are okay you get hit again. I think a lot of us have been there. I got bitten by a tick and have been symptomless unless until 10 years ago and got worst after a car accident 3 years ago. Yes, it's frustrating and I find so hard to explain to everyone what is going on.

My Dr. prescribed Amrix. It relaxes the muscles. Have you tried it? I did, but it is too strong for me and I have a 15 month old to take care of, but it did work for bad pain in my joints.
