In responseto your statemet about treatment length, I would say that your treatment length would depend on how long you were ill before you were treated.
I can trace back to when I started getting sick about 6 years, and so my treatment is going to take a while. I will have been on antibiotics and supliments for about 2 1/2 months now. My son is working on 2 months. Some of my symptoms are better, because I don't hurt to badly most of the time now. But I have other things that are popping up instead. My son, his anxiety seems much better and though he still hurts a lot in his legs and feet, I am seeing improvements in his personallity, and attitude, that I didn't think I would see this soon. It really is wonderful!
So, after that long winded statement, I would say,...Do you feel better? That is where I would start. If you and your daughter still don't feel GOOD. Then I would check into further treatment. However, If you have not been sick for a long time, and you know when you where infected approximatly, and you were treated right away, then you may be one of those lucky people that does not have to take long term treatmet. I will hope tat that is te case. I wish itwere the case for us! Good luck!
Yes, happened to me too. I've had insomnia for about 6 yrs and took amytriptiline too. It made me sleep 16hrs and I felt stoned. It was for peripheral neuropathy pain, but it zonked me too much. I changed meds immediately.
how long is your treatment? I was only treated for 21 days, my daughter only for 14. After all of the research, I am worried that this is not enough! Am I right?
I'm glad you are through that rough patch.
Like Erica, I've had some days since starting treatment where my fog was even denser than before.
My doctor has also told me to back down if/when treatment gets to be too much.
Thanks for the words of encouragement! I talkedto my doctor and he said if it was makingme that bad even at 1/2 doses, to stop taking it. I woke up tday feeling much better and even though I am in a bit of a fog! I am functional and thatis a plus!
Thanks again for being here to listen to me! It really does help!
I totally understand what you are talking about. Sometimes when modifications are made to my meds I have SEVERE brain fog. I will forget peoples names that I have known for 10 years and I will out a pot of water on and forget that its on the stove until it boils over.
With Lyme there are good and bad days and usually as you continue the meds it DOES get better.
Hang in there. Just remember to take one day at a time. :)
Yes. I once took a sleep medicine that did this to me. I only took it twice because I couldn't think straight? It wasn't just for sleep. It was for pain too. The drug was amitriptylline.
Are you ok now? I would let your doctor know how you are feeling?
