When my neurologist looked at my CT scan, the one thing he did say he saw was what he called "volume shrinkage," which I'm guessing is the same thing as atrophy. He asked me if I had a history of heavy alcohol or drug use, and I told him I have neither. So he was like, "Well, that's okay, though. Some people just have that."
I find it hard to accept that, with the way my head hurts ALL of the time and all of the cognitive issues I've developed over the course of the past fiveish years that I never used to have, that that is just something normal and insignificant that my brain decided to do. Something had to cause that, and I imagine it has a lot to do with the fact that I feel like I can never think straight or remember much of anything anymore.
