Do you think I have Lyme Disease

My history of problems -
I live in the U.K.  I love to walk in the country side, woods, etc;
In January 2006 I whilst taking a shower I discovered a TICK attatched to my left buttock ,  I knew it had been there for atleast 24 hours, I previously thought I had a small infected boil or something, not being able to see left buttock easily!  Upon realising what it really was I panicked, grabbed it tightly between finger and thumb and basically tore it off,  it was engorged with blood and made me feel dirty etc;  I never mentioned this incident to anyone and put it to the back of my mind. I had never heard of Lymes Disease and so took no more action.
I started getting a annoying/worrying pain in left shoulder/chest area.  I went for check-up.  Chiropractice was reccomended but I did not go for treatment.  One morning about Feb/March 2006 I woke-up with very painful stiff neck, since then I have had lots of muscle pain, headaches, congested feeling in top half of body,  numbness sensation in face, dizziness, nausea, anxiety,  occassions when I just had to lie down,  irrattic almost non-exsistent menses, loud creaking noises in my neck, tickling sensation in tip of nose, the list goes on.  I was told I have fibromyalgia which if it were not for the TICK incident I would probably have accepted.  What do people out there think?  I seem to have flare-ups monthly,  although not so regular now can be anytime.  Neck pain is basically constant.  Is this anxiety because of neck pain or could it be LYME.  My Doctor dismissed this idea without a second thought.  I have done some research but would like other sufferers opinions.  Thanks.

It sounds just like lyme to me.  All my problem started after a bullseye rash.

So sorry to hear of your troubles!

I'm not a doctor, but if I were, I would think you have enough to suggest Lyme and would order a test.  The neck pain is very common in Lyme disease. The night sweats is consistent with Babsesia, a co-infection that surfaces in Lyme sufferers who went untreated.  I saw this link on another Lyme advice site and thought I'd pass it along. It's in the U.K. but may be outside what insurance covers. (Typical in the U.S. too when it comes to Lyme!)

Apparently, Lyme is just as bad or getting there in the U.K. as it is in the U.S.

get well soon!
