Does anyone have a reccommendation for a good LLMD in NJ?

Preferably one that does the Igenex and Western Blot testing?

Sounds good -- and if you have any suggestions on any of this 'Lyme management' in finding LLMDs etc., please do post.  I have been done with treatment for several years now, so I'm sure there are developments in the field that I'm not familiar with, including how to find good current docs, treatments, etc.  Others here are still doing reading of source materials etc., and posting when they can, but your contributions and those of others are always welcome ... and, indeed, needed.

Keep us posted --

Thaks, Jackie! I've been on MedHelp for a while so I am familiar with it. Thanks for that info as well, I decided to send them a message.

and PS ... if you have not already done so, just google/searching for something like

will fetch up links to explore.

You may get responses to your question in a 'private message' through this site -- at the top of this page is a blue bar with several buttons including 'My MedHelp'.  If there is a number also showing such as 'MyMedHelp(1)' it means you have one message waiting for you -- just click through.

As a courtesy to Lyme docs and as a protective measure for ourselves, we generally do *not* post LLMD names in the open here, because in many states, the medical establishment and the so-called 'mainstream' docs who don't believe in Lyme as anything serious are out to stop Lyme docs from practicing.  As a result, the medical boards in too many states will try to take the medical license from a doc who treats Lyme with more than a couple weeks of doxy and a hearty handshake.

Thus the discretion here.  Yes, these docs who help us are not unknown in their local areas already, but no point in adding fuel to the fire.  We need these docs up and practicing!

If not already suggested, you can send an email to

--  contact  [at]  ILADS  [dot]   org  --

and tell them the state or area you are able to travel to ('southern New Jersey' or 'near Trenton' or whatever) and they will send you names.

When you get to see the doc, still keep your antennae up, because Lyme is a fast-moving field of medicine, and some of these docs are a little ... odd.  If the first one seems too wacky, go to another one.  (To my knowledge, there is no test to become an ILADS member doc.)

Testing and then treatment is a months-long endeavor, so it won't be a one-stop shop.  All that said, go for it!  Getting well is worth the hassle.  Trust me.  :)
