Does this sound like Lyme?

For a period of about a year+ (starting late 2012), I had insomnia, body aches, low grade fever, heart palpitations and elevated blood pressure.  All of these are gone, except the insomnia (waking between 2 and 4am).  I had subacute thyroiditis in September 2013 through approx. February 2014.  I had 3 B12 tests and all were between 950 and 999. I had low vitamin D (20) detected in August 2013 (level recovered to 45 with 4000 daily supplements).  I have tinnitus, hoarseness (for the last month+) and sinusitis.  I had neurological symptoms (mostly numb right pinkie toe, twitching in left foot arch, cramps in right foot) starting in Sept/October 2013 with the hyper phase of thyroiditis and they continue today.  I had a low MPV and RDM in several blood tests. High Basophil in one.  My main symptoms that persist are the neurological ones.  I have been negative for Lymes, but my doctor still believes I have it.  I had one coarse of Amoxicillin and felt a little better, but that was also the time, my thyroiditis problems started to improve.  I have general fatigue, exercise intolerance (sometimes), headaches and neck pain also.  Does this sound like Lyme or could it be something else?

It could be Lyme ----- or as you said, it could be something else. I'm not being facetious but Lyme does present as many health issues.

What lab did your tests? That may be important because if it was done by a lab that isn't specific for tick borne diseases the chances of getting an incorrect result is highly possible.

Your small improvement on Amoxicillin could be an indication that a bacterial cause for your symptoms (which of course includes Lyme disease) was being addressed.

If it IS Lyme then a short course is not recommended by Lyme specialists. It will only make resolution more difficult.

If your doctor recommends more antibiotics then my personal (I'm not a doctor) then I wonder why you are resisting that.

But we don't know the full picture, even though you related a lot to us.

Again, what lab was used to test for Lyme. Even if it was Igenex (the best) then having a negative test isn't uncommon for people who actually have it.

Go to ILADS.org and read for  more information.

Ask more questions here if you want too. Willing to help as much as we can.
