I have the exact same symptoms. Had them for two months now, still waiting to see an opthamologist. Don't know if you will see this reply or not but what ever became of your symptoms?
What you say makes sense. Photophobia (fear of bright light) is a symptom of Lyme. I also see a fair number of comments hear from people who have sinus trouble: I wonder if the Lyme bugs colonize sinuses because it's a nice, dark, warm place to hang and party.
I too have grainy vision but not snowy,( about 4 months now) like a bad print job and all the lights have an aura, it's only in one eye. I went to the vision doctor and had my eyes tested, it has not affected my level of vision and I can still see all the colors. ( It gets worse with physical activity.)
I also saw my regular doctor and I don't even think he believed me! What a jerk.
The worst part is that bright lights appear brighter and it is hard to read something that is on bright white paper.
I have bad sinuses but have never taken anything for it until this week when I started taking claratin clear and I noticed that as my sinuses began to clear up so did my eye and it came back when the medicine wore off; so here's my theroy. * My sinus cavaties were swollen and maybe touching an optic nerve causing a disruption in my vision but not enough to cause a headache. * Just a theroy but you never know
if it's not in a text book most dr.s don't have a clue.
I hope this helps somebody.
I have seen an opthamologist when I first started having these symptoms and he said my eyes look perfect. He is considered one of the best opthamologists in my town so he probably would have seen something if there was anything there.
I've read that some people have "visual snow" their whole lives and there never seems to be a problem with their eyes. I just wanted to see if anyone with lyme has this weird problem.
Thanks
I have that and all kinds of visual issues. I have so many floaters that it's like looking through a screen. My eyes are also dry and feel like they have sand in them at times. I've gotten used to them all so they don't bother me as much.
The worst eye problems were the pain and redness. I had this for months but it's gone now. Thank goodness.
Yes, I had some similar things, but they came and went pretty quickly. Have you been to an ophthalmologist for dilation and a peek into your eyes? My ophth took Lyme very seriously when I told him, so that's good that some drs do! The flashing lights were the strangest -- like car lights shining suddenly in the window at night. And once I got a little swirly effect like a little brook running rapidly around in a circle in my field of vision, in the middle of the day, only in on eye -- I was sitting at my desk watching it go in a full circle, wondering what next! But it stopped. Do see an ophthalmologist -- I don't know what s/he can do, but better to get checked and know what the options are. Take care!
