Welcome to MedHelp Lyme --
I don't know that we have anyone posting here currently who is in Kansas, but you might try:
1 -- Google a search like:
--- kansas lyme disease ---
I got several interesting hits doing that just now ... there are groups in many states and cities that have good information on local Lyme docs, activities, etc., so I'd browse through the search results.
2 -- ILADS is mentioned above. It's short for International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society, which is a voluntary group for medical personnel who take a broad and progressive approach toward Lyme. It's quite reputable, and the only people I've found who don't care for ILADS are the docs who don't 'believe' in Lyme as serious misery. My own doc was an ILADS member. There is no admission test to join Lyme, so there are some fringe docs who belong -- just keep your antennae up -- but it's a good place to start.
The ILADS website is large and rambling thing, and if you want to cut straight to the referral function, send an email to
contact [at] ILADS [dot] org
and tell them generally where you live ('near Topeka/Lawrence') and how far you can travel. They will send you back member names that fit the request.
If that doesn't work, let us know, and maybe someone else here will have a suggestion.
Best wishes, and let us know how you do, okay?
If you go to the ILADS web site there is a function there for getting recommendations. Also Lyme Disease Association.
I can't give the links for that may be against forum rules but I'm sure you can figure it out.
Also there may be someone here who may know and that person can send you a private email. We're not supposed to mention the name of doctors here.
