itchy, is this a lyme thing?

I've been on antibiotics for a little over a week now, not feeling better but worse so far. I  have this new thing now where I get itchy in one spot, then another. Sometimes it makes me jump as if you would if you realized right then a bug was biting you. It's internal though, as opossed to a bug bite being external. Sounds crazy, but I thought I'd ask any way. Thanks!

I have the itchiness on one area on my head, noticed this before being diagnosed with Lyme, and during antibiotic treatment as well, now after a few months of being off antibiotics, I'm noticing that same itch on the same area of the head

When little microvermin die there is sometimes an immune response which can include the release of histamine.  One particular tick carried microvermin that causes a big immune response when it dies is wolbachia.  The response is so dramatic it is the cause of blindness in people infected with Onchocerca.

I had noticeable skin itching in my first month of treatment.  It wasn't too bad and lotion helped.  It didn't last very long for me...maybe a couple weeks.

I agree with mojogal.

mkh9 is correct, BUT not imo in the realm of Lyme.  We're through Alice's looking glass in the world of Lyme.

I don't know if it is lyme related but sounds like nerves. I get that too especially at night (and I don't have Lymes, "just" a back problem). As for the antibiotics what are you on them for? They may not be working if you haven't improved. Sometimes it does take the full two weeks to recover but usually I see a difference in a few days. It depends on what type of infection you have. You could have a resistant strain and need a different antibiotic.  I would need more information.

Not so crazy. When you start to take antibiotics, my nurse friends always says "You are bothering the little critters who don't want to be bothered" and you most likely are having a herxing episode. Goggle, herxing with Lyme disease ,I cant explain it like some on the is site and I am herxing badly myself. The itchies are common, I have to take benadryl every night. Talk to your LLMD and he/she should be able to tell you that it is not unusual and people get all kinds of reactions when herxing. Its all a good thing but does come with side effects.
Ask anytime and I hope this makes you feel a bit better. Good luck
