Could the bite have been 9 years ago?

My head is spinning right now so I thought I'd look to some of you who seem to have a lot of information about Lyme.  I have had major fatigue, sore throat and muscle aches (usually only when I first wake up, then no sore throat or muscle pain), "brain fog", and worsening facial twitches for years now.  I have also periodically had severe pain on the right side of my neck.  Last week I was trying to type an email and I had about 20 minutes of total confusion, couldn't get the words right, doubled and tripled some words and left some out entirely.  I was aware, and said "What the H is happening?"  I was also having flashing lights in my right eye but no pain.  As soon as it passed I got terrible pain behind my other eye which lasted for a few hours.  I went the GP and he said he was 99.9% sure it was just a migraine but ordered an MRI just to be safe.  Well, the MRI came back with non specific white spots which could indicate Lyme or MS.  I am in Connecticut where the whole darn thing started but the only time I recall a bullseye rash was about 9 years ago and at the time I went to a walk in clinic, they said it was ringworm which was common since we had just gotten a puppy.  If this had been a tick bite wouldn't the symptoms have gotten more severe over all of these years or does it sound feasible?   I am going for more blood work today and being referred to a neurologist.  Thanks in advance for any info you can provide!  Katie

Hi Tory!

Thank you so much for your response!  I have another MRI on Friday (this time of the neck as I've had pain on the right side of my neck on and off for years now) and then I
see the neurologist on New Year's Eve morning!  Wooo Hooo!  Not how I expected to
spend the time but I was glad they could get me in this year.

Thanks again for your advise and I'll let you know what they tell me!

yes, and yes again...this all could be from a "bite" nine years ago!

In my non medical opinion...you appear to have classical symptoms of Lyme disease...Especially the waxing and waning of your symptoms....this is VERY common.

Having non specific white spots can be an indication of LD. Lyme does produce lesions also,,,,and it mimics MS.

there's a great lyme website loaded with tons of reading material  lymenet.org.This site offers a Seeking a Doctor section also. Post your question under Medical Questions: Lots of folks there to offer their experiences.

I was diagnosed with MS for years, I have since found I have LD and am getting better. Learning and reading all you can about this infection along with all the co-infections will help you to better health.  I decided to find out what the cause of my MS was. I no longer believe we can have so many things wrong without having answers. Your GP is 99.9% sure all of this is a migraine? I now ask "why" and what causes a migraine.

Best to you,
tory
