who's checking the borders, anyway??!!

Question

we have a fairly local clinic that has had alot of success in diagnosing and treating lyme---but the doc was recently told by the CDC that there is no lyme in idaho.  another friend of mine had a son with an allergic reaction to some kind of bug bite---but was assured that it could not be west nile virus because it had not crossed into idaho yet this year.  we had a man who became severely ill with west nile several years back----i wonder how and when the mosquito that infected him left/died and how they are sure it doidn't produce any offspring.     

i listen to all the trouble they have with the mexican american border and trying to keep illegal aliens out---and suddenly i realized that they have the wrond people watching the border!!!!

if the CDC knows the habits and travels of critters as small as ticks and mosquitos---and knows when they cross the state line (i've always wondered how those little blood succers knew where the state lines were)  why in the heck don't we have the CDC wtching the US borders???

we have a local gal that almost died from lyme before they discovered what was wrong. her sister was in ohio and wanted to be tested. the doc asked her if she has been back east recently.........isn't ohio closer to the east coast than the west coast???

When I got sick I was, and had always been, living in endemic areas and was still told over and over how, for various reasons, I couldn't have Lyme.

So instead of getting a timely diagnosis I got about a year of run-around, capped off with a steroid treatment that wreaked havoc on me.

I'm just griping that even when geography can't be used, there is always some reasoning to go against Lyme.  You hear over and over how fast detection and early treatment are important for prognosis, but it seems all too often people get disciraged from even considering it.  Frustrating.

maybe it is intentional.Many people do not realize Obama passed the dream act by executive order a week ago because it wouldnt pass by congress or the senate,goodbye miss american pie!
