pregnant with IUD

I am just over 7 weeks pregnent, and I have a copper IUD that is still in place. My OB/GYN tried to remove the IUD but was unable to do so. I cant find much information on this, and what my risks are. I read something about infections and a high percent of miscarrages. Im a little scared and cant find anything to educate myself with. Please help!!!

To any women that were/are pregnant with the copper iud, what were your symptoms? Did you do a home pregnancy test if so what were the results? Any insight would help. Thanks

Please let me know as soon as you can, how is your pregnancy progressing. I find myself in the same situation as you. I'm 7 weeks pregnant, with identical twins. I am having another attempt this week (hopefully) to remove the IUD. There aren't many positive reports on these types of pregnancies.
Hope to hear from you really soon. Good luck x

For those of you who have the copper IUD and are pregnant was a pregnancy test done before the placement of the IUD and was the IUD Place during your period?

i just recently found out that im 6 weeks pregnant with the copper iud. i have also been told that removing the iud would give me a 50/50 chance of the baby surviving. Im high risk either way and i am scared. i already have three kids and this was a very big surprise. hopefully all works out but if it doesnt i dont know how i will recover from this. but it is nice to know that i am not alone on this. but they should have more info on this matter so woman could have a full understanding on this situation.

jessrk555, Hi, my name is Julie. I just wanted to say, that I am in your same situation. I am now 14 weeks pregnant with a copper IUD still in place. I have not been able to find any information on our situation either. It is so uncommon. If I can find anything, it is about someone who had their IUD removed.
It is nice to at least not feel so alone though. How is your pregnancy progressing? I hope it has been completely uneventful :)

I agree, get a 2nd opinion and see someone who deals with high risk...

I know someone who delivered with an IUD in place, but also know someone who lost a pregnancy due to an IUD in place that couldn't be removed.  For this issue, you need good medical guidance.  You might get a second opinion as to whether the IUD can be removed.  I would also talk to a high-risk pregnancy specialist.  Good luck!
