Full Moon!

by teko, Nov 02, 2009 08:00PM
I have noticed that people seem to be more rude than usual during a full moon and I myself tend to be moodier than usual. What say you? It is a full moon now and I feel unsettled is the best description I could give.

When I worked with the public we always had rude and negative people during a full moon. And I just commented a couple of days ago about the negativity both in post and replies

"... it is the very error of the moon; She comes more near the earth than she was wont, And makes men mad."  from Othello by William Shakespeare

I'm always in a bad mood, I wonder what that reasoning is....lol.

yes the full moon does have an effect on every thing, have you ever read the ole farmers Almanac/ the phases of the moon affect many things The ole timers would use the almanac to tell them when to plant this and that potatoes were planted in the dark of the moon all things that grew underground were planted then  the stuff that grew on top of ground was planted in the light of the moon, i know myself this to be true as i have had many gardens living in the country my husband swore by it and one time he was busy and did not get the potatoes in at the right time so he ended up with mostly vines also it can affedt humans animals have you ever watched the animals when the weather is going to change this may sound nuts but i weaned my children by the almanac also potty trained them, also there is a time for operations and you do not bleed as much i know this for a fact My step father nutted his calfs when the moon was right and one year this guy that helped him talked him into doing it when the moon was not in the right sign after losing 2 he said no i will wait untill the sign is right the almanac has a right time for everything and it also affects people especially exra sesitive ones i could tell you many things but the answer is yes i have not bought an almanac in years but i am thinking about it just to see if things have changed i think the only thing it neglected was relling me what to say to my kids when they reached a certain age and became their own boss and then that was it  luck to all jo

Swampy tries to howl at the moon, but in swampcritters it tends to sound more like a grunt.

I have heard of the Farmers' Almanac. My hubby raised and showed rabbits. He definitely bred and weaned by the moon. Same as chicks. Hubby's grandfather swore by the Almanac for his garden. The moon determines the strength of the animal or if the plant is barin or will have fruit. Yea! we are all connected.

My dad and grandpa planted crops and castrated animals to the Farmers Almanac along with breeding cattle and pigs......Thanks for the memories Crochetya as i had forgot all about the FA.........sara

Interesting observation. I have been feeling rather moody this week. I thought it was the bad weather we've been getting quite often, and the lack of light as the days get shorter. I am fairly certain I have SAD and that gets to be an issue around this time and worsens through December.

On another note
On an african violet forum, some members mentioned repotting their plants according to the moon. Done at the right time, they claimed either having more or less success.

Apparently more women menstruate around the full moon time. ( I know I do!) MOre women have babies around a full moon night. More women become...er....(searches for a nice word...) 'crazy' and do rather horrid things to people and inanimate objects. More physical robberies occur on full moon nights. More suicides happen on full moon nights, and my next door neighbours dogs won't just the bleeping heck up on full moon nights!

When you think we are over 80% bags of water, and the tides are affected by the waxing and waning of the moon, is it any wonder we all go a little nuts that evening?

As a teacher, i have heard many collleagues comment about student behavior being worse around a full moon.  I haven't personally noticed, but i'm not a very observant person. = )
