Sara Palin leaving Office

Okay guys lets have a good healthy debate, I have heard about Sara  Palin, what are your views on her leaving, did the media drive her away, the attacks on her family, or she just couldnt cut it.  I am not doing a Poll not everyone likes them, so come on we all love a good debate.I believe  she is thinking about her family and knows that if it has been difficult to cope with now it would get worse as the next 3 years go by. I cant blame her she has a great family to think about.and it must affect them. What do you all think.?

Not a chance. It would all be speculation at best anyway. I will pass.

It's obvious to me... she left office because she is planning on running for president in 2012.

I really think that she does not want to deal with the politics as usual.  And, she is tired of hearing all of the nastiness that the media and others have aimed at her children.  Most recently, her son Trig, who has down syndrome, was targeted and as a mother, she decided to end it all.  She is just tired of her children getting beat up and frankly, I do not blame her for leaving.  Actually, I was surprised that it was not sooner.  She is done and I really do not think she is running for President.  I do not think that she wants to deal with politics as usual.

When Imus made his comment, and later apologized he had to step down.  Letterman is still on the air.  Why?  Because Palin is a Conservative, and she is white.  All the Lettermanns out there would've NEVER said this kind of stuff about Michelle Obama or the Obama girls or any Liberal female politician for that matter.  Not only was her daughter attacked but her down syndrome baby was also called names by some of the Liberals.  Palin and her daughter was also attacked by the Liberal media, frequently.

Lets face it, they were/are scared to death of her that she'd run for President, lots of the Liberal women are JELEAUS of Palin afraid their husbands/boyfriends would give her a second look.  I mean just look at her, she is beautiful, sexy, a knock out body and that after having 5 kids, the last one not to long ago.  I've seen and known women who are younger than Palin have no kids or one kid and look totally out of shape.  She is intelligent and is a threat to the Liberals.

Now compare her to other women in politics.  Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Diane Feinstein, Barbara Boxer, with their boring pantsuits, Pelosi afraid to smile to much, afraid her botox will pop.

Palin RESPECTS our military, she'd NEVER say to a Brigidair General "please don't call me ma'm, I'm a Senator and worked hard for that title", I saw the clip on CSPAN, it was disgusting.

And for the ones who claim that Palin doesn't have enough experience just look at our President, he was a 2 year Senator and a community organizer and was elected President without having to prove that he was born in the U.S.

I don't know what to think about her quitting because really, I don't know the REAL reason.

The hateful comments made against her children, Bristol and Trig, were deplorable. If these had been made against obamas kids "MY STARS" the perpetrator would have been incarcerated, might even been put UNDER the jail. Such a double standard. And the thing is, is we tolerate it. I just don't understand that!!

I have just listened to some of her speech and it does say some thing you can interpret as being upset at the coverage she got, I always viewed her as being a very courageous woman , looking after her children and being there for them. ,as was   said above by Barbarella I think that if anyone had cast the slurs she took on some of the other Political wives and their children the Press would have crucified them.

I can't add much because Barbarella and Peggy have said things so much better than I could.....WHY *IS* IT OKAY TO SAY SUCH THINGS ABOUT *HER*?  You watch, if *I* posted a thread with despicable things about President Obama's kids (which would be just in HORRIBLE taste and I wouldn't even think about it---I actually think Mr. Obama has a very nice family)....but *IF* I started a post with a joke in poor taste about them, who wants to guess how quickly that post would be removed....?  Of course, we don't know if the same thing would have happened in the case of a distasteful about Palin, BUT WE SURE HAD PEOPLE HERE ON SOCIAL THINKING THE JOKE(S) ABOUT PALIN'S DAU WERE NO BIG DEAL.....AND THAT SHE WAS BEING A DRAMA QUEEN!

I also don't see what resigning from her post has to do with running for office in 2012.  Most politicians go from one to the other.  I think it's exactly what she is saying it is.  Of course, like everyone else, I am guessing...

Jollyman, as for your very first response....why don't you say what you REALLY feel....?  Oh, got to LOVE Jollyman!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with everything said above about the attacks on her family.  I'd certainly resign too, if people said those things about my family.

She had a lot of family things going on during this past election and I don't believe she was given fair press at all, so it appeared that she wasn't "with it".

BUT - I can't help but wonder if she is resigning now, hoping the "hype" will die down so she can "regroup" and prepare to run in 2012.  I'm hoping that's what she has in mind; depending on her policies - I'd most likely vote for her..

Personally, I respect Sarah Palin and believe she's making a good decision for her and her family right now.  I personally think (just my opinion) that perhaps she will run for another office (maybe the senate or house).  I think she'd do awesome in that capacity.  I also think she'd be a great President - she is not afraid to stand up for what she believes in.  I do NOT think she's running away like so many think.  IMO!

Just when I think I won't hear that name anymore, she pops up again...
Would someone please explain to me why the republican party is so attached to Sarah Palin?  When she first got started I sort of understood, because she was a pitbull in lipstick and she is very pretty...but there are a lot of republican women in office that are so much more intelligent and have made better decisions and can answer a question about what newpapers they read...what is it about her that makes you think she can run the country....For me...it takes more than having boobs.  We had one less than intelligent person in office for 8 years...Can we please please please put really, really smart people in the white house....shouldn't our president be like near brilliant?

So here's my real concern...I live in Iowa and I know a lot of states don't like the fact that we are always first to caucas and blah blah blah...we had politicians in our state non stop for two years before this election...republican and democrats and yes it's great for our local economies...BUT....I got soooo sick of the election months before it ever happened.  So I'm thinking she's going to be heading to the lower 48...are we going to start 3.5 years before the election this time?  Please "Say it ain't so Joe"

I personally think she's a very bright woman.  She stood up to the Republican party in her own State and made them accountable.  I'm thankful she's not afraid to take on her own party and realizes she's represented the people, not special interests or other politicians.  I like her strength.  By the way, I'm not a Republican.  I'm conservative but believe both parties have lost their way.  As for the past 8 years, I will agree that Bush made many mistakes, but as for being "less than intelligent" I don't believe that.  He's a very smart man.

And, I hope we can say it's "it ain't so 'JOE'" in the future.  LOL!!!

You know I think you may be right  I thought she was protecting her Family from any more attacks but then it could be she needs to keep her 'powder 'dry ready for 2012,it makes sense doesnt it, kind of regrouping.

I think she's bright up to a point...but I'm not sure she comes up with her own conclusions or grabs someone else's and runs with it.  She did not come off well in her interviews...and I don't want someone who has be coached to say I read the papers, which it was fairly obvious that she didn't......George Bush Jr (mr Ex President) was not that bright and he was generally the first one to admit it...I think in the first 4 years of the Bush Cheney presidency...it was just that Bush and Cheney ...I'm not sure we had a v.p.  In the second 4 years, I feel that President Bush jr...(man W is so much easier) felt that he was re-elected and I think that's when he took the lead, but we were already in huge trouble by then....and he was a lot like John McCain in admitting that economics was not his strength. A person running for office can get away with not being book smart if they can be realistic.
It's not always great if they're intelligent but aren't a realistic person and if you're neither smart nor realistic oh we're a so scr00d.

One thing we've learned about Sarah Palin is that she LOVES attention. She may play the victim and claim that she is hounded by the "liberal" (LOL!) media, but she is the one going out and trying to grab the spotlight.

I don't think Palin is too bright to basically QUIT after only serving as Governor for 2 1/2 years. Alaska, like many other states, are dealing with budget deficit. If I'm right and Palin wants to run for president in 2012,  then this wasn't a bright move at all. She should think twice about up and quitting. She doesn't have the experience to run for president. Perhaps she's considering running for Senate or writing a book ? Who knows ? But I do know that she is planning something. I still believe that winning is not quitting and she made a huge mistake by resigning today.

We'll regarding the Republican party loving Sarah Palin; that is certainly not true.  Many Republicans are just as afraid of her as the Liberals are.  The reason they are afraid of her is because she has morals and actually cares about Americans, which is alot more than you could ever say about any other politician on either side.  If someone would have attacked my son, with down syndrome, or any of my kids; then with morals being the #1 on my list as well as Sarah Palin's then resigning is the best thing she could have done for her family.  The media, liberals, and Republicans nevered showed her kids respect and always attacked them.  Noone really knows if they were being harrased or possibly even threatened.  It definitely would not surprise me with some of the nasty things that have been said by many critics of hers.

Regarding the comment on she does not even have experience to run for Presidentl; We all said the same thing about our current President.  Hmmm, He still is not showing that he has the experience to run this country.  She is put in the spotlight by others that have to always be attacking and criticizing her for all that she does, even if she does nothing at all.  I did not hear anyone criticize and attack Hillary or Nancy Pelosi, well that is probably because they are just not that attractive or interesting.  Also, like others have said, the media or politicians have never attacked a Democrats' child and if they did then they would be fired or put in jail for it.  So, it is always a double standard.  The media does it to former President Bush's girls as well especially on Saturday Night Live.

I really think that morals should come first, especially if you are a politician and always in the public eye.  When it comes to our children, then they need to come before any title or political position.  We need them to be protected or they will end up like a Sanford, Edward's, Clinton, or Ensign.   I surely do not want that.

"the liberals are afriad of Palin as well they should be"

Nope. I do not fear many things, including the future and I know many liberals who certainly do not fear Sarah Palin.

The problem with the Republican party is that they have lost their ways.... they are so divided right now and have no proposed solutions (excluding Colin Powell) for some of these MAJOR issues, such as healthcare, energy and the economy. All they've been doing is whining lately.

I would like to hear proposed solutions to our countrys problems, including energy and the healthcare issue from all of the Republicans here. Also, do you even know where your candidates stand on these issues ? I'm guessing that most Republicans do not.

What makes me think that Sarah Palin can run this country because it takes more than boobs?  Sarah Palin has MORALES.  Sarah Palin doesn't take any cra...-p, Sarah stands up for herself and her family, Sarah Palin stands up for our military, and I'm positive she would stand up for this country.  Sarah Palin I don't think would go to other countries and "apologize" for the U.S.

As for the "less intelligent" President Bush, how do you know exactly "how intelligent" President Bush is?? He was INTELLIGENT ENOUGH to keep us safe for the last 8 yrs.  He did not pussyfoot around with the enemy.  Before you make judgment about President Bush I suggest you go to the muslim websites throughout the world.  They are all on Google.  Most of them have an option to click "English" so you can read their stuff in English.  Go ahead and read exactly what they are saying as in "Obama shows weakness", "the Al Quaeda was afraid of Bush".  I read that several times and I am not talking about message boards but from "editors" at their local newspapers.  Despite Obama's speech in Egypt he thinks was so succesful, that speech doesn't mean a thing to them.

Why do you think that idiot in North Korea is "playing games" with Obama constantly threatening and announcing that he will shoot off a missile toward us because he is not afraid of Obama.

I think when it comes to keeping us safe I rather have a President Bush or a Sarah Palin who is not afraid then somebody what you think is more "intelligent" because they can name the "magazines" they read (Katie Couric asked Palin what "magazines" she reads NOT what newspaper, I saw the interview) maybe Palin doesn't read any magazines, I don't.  Some people don't have time or desire to read magazines.

Look at your own President.  During the primaries he said "I've been to 57 States and have two more to go", I heard and saw it.  Now imagine if a Republican running for office had said that??   Look at your own VP Biden, I can't even count all the Gaffe's he has made, one comes to my mind where he told a man in a wheelchair "get up, stand up"  I watched it, when he realized the man could not do that, and then Biden apoligized "what was I thinking, omg what was I thinking"?!

Does it show intelligence our President giving the Prime Minister of England 25 DVD's, among them Star Wars and ET as a "gift", no class!   An IPOD as a "gift"for the Queen of England who is 83 yrs old.

How intelligent is President Obama??  He has yet to make his college papers public.  We do not know how he graduated, if he graduated etc etc what is he hiding?    Mc Cain made his public and even told that he was 5th on the bottom of his class at the Naval Academy.  Mc Cain was not hiding anything which includes his birth certificate.

I suggest people get off the insults toward President Bush and Sarah Palin and take inventory of our current President instead.....

"He was INTELLIGENT ENOUGH to keep us safe for the last 8 yrs.  He did not pussyfoot around with the enemy."

I think Bush was a little confused as to who the enemy was. I thought our enemy was Bin Laden, but instead we went to war with Iraq. That wasn't a smart move..... IMHO.

Three things that Bush did that made us less safe:

1) He did not close the borders.
2) He wanted Saudi Arabia to secure our ports. (isn't that nuts ??)
3) He had his crazy "Axis of Evil" list... what a great way to recruit more terrorists !

Ahhh... almost forgot something else (and I'm sure that I will remember more later). Bush also made us less safer by not addressing the failing economy. It was on his watch when the economy started declining and not to mention that the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission failed to foresee this and address the issue. Of course the CEO of the SEC was appointed by Bush !

One of Bin Laden's goals was to destroy our economy. Well he didn't have to.... Bush already helped him. (IMHO).
