past menopause have light pink Blood

Hi! I'm a 52 year old that ceased Menst. about a year now. 4 years ago I had my first abnormal pap and had to get a colposcopy. This morning I noticed that I am passing light pink in pants and toilet paper It is not heavy. I am not on any kind of hormones (or any meds). I don't have insurance so I was just trying to figure out what it could be.  Thanks!

i am 53 almost 54..i stopped having full period at the age of 50.  then a yr and half later i had a slight period...not heavy at all.  that was sept 2014.  this past week i started with a dark brown discharge then to light pink...stopped for a few days then light pink came back tonight with some cramping.  going to the gyn next week.  I hate going but i know i need to .  i hope it is just the ovaries acting up....funny thing is that both times i had the light discharge my daughter was on her period and with me the entire time.  i wonder if the pheromones have anything to do with that.

I was told after a year u were post menopausal. I've been having spotting and discharge and cramping also. The spotting only last a couple of days but comes back the next month. Had my annual pap today and it was canceled by them.. Great. I'm 52 and been post menapause for almost 3 years.

Post-menopausal bleeding is more common than most people realize especially in the first 5 years or so after menopause. Thankfully, it is oftentimes nothing more than some sporadic ovarian activity. After all, the ovaries don't completely shut down. They continue producing hormones well into a woman's 70's. Vaginal atrophy and an irritated urethra (from the loss of estrogen) are other causes of (light) bleeding or spotting.

They do say, however, that all episodes of post-menopausal bleeding should be investigated to rule out any abnormalities. Keep in mind too that if you did not go a full year without a period, you are not considered menopausal in which case you'd have to start counting all over again.

Hope this helps!
