Anyone know about Premarin

Will premarin and hrt help with the anxiety that comes along with menopause? I cannot seem to get a straight answer from researching it on the net. I'm desperate for help. Thanks

I stopped using Premarin when I learned how it was produced. (the equine version).  When I asked was there  an alternative, my doctor prescribed Angelique, which is, as I understand it, plant based.  Please don't use the natural version.  It's made with horse urine, preferably from draft horses because they can produce more in volume, due to their size.  These mares are kept in pens where they cannot even move or turn.  This sometimes causes blood clots.  Urine is collected while the mare is pregnant, she has the foal, the foal is sent to slaughter.  The mare is then again impregnated and the process starts all over again.  Pretty disgusting, if you ask me.  You can read all about it on the ASPCA sight.  They were instrumental in getting some of the Wyeth (the makers) suppliers shut down.  Wyeth was actually sued.

Hi Vonda, PLEASE PLEASE dont use natural premarin!! It is produced from the dreadful suffering of female horses and since there is a manmade version there is no need to use the natural version.

Hi Vonda, I just responded to your post in the "Need to find new physician" thread.

Please read it, and DO ask your doctor about prescribing Premarin while you still have your uterus. I provided a link to an FDA website that talks about it.

As for the anxiety, do yourself a favor and give Wisdom Menopause Formula a try. It has made a huge difference for me, and it took care of the hot flashes and night sweats as well. I know six or eight women who are taking it, and I've heard nothing but praise.

Please let us know what your doctor says!
