Burning skin

Hi there,

Has anyone had a sensation of skin burning from inside out and skin turning red like a sunburn.  It start 3 weeks 2 rimes a week and always in the morning after waking. To relieve the symptom I have to have cold shower which helps greatly and after 2 hours skin is normal collie and not burning.  Until this morning no symptoms for the first hour of waking then it started with a vengeance.  Before   it was only my limbs, neck and face. Today my whole body was on fire, red all over, dizziness, nausea and almost passed out.  Managed to drag myself into the cool living room, opened patio door and turned fan on.  It took an hour for it to subside enough for me to get up.  Could that be what the call hot flushes?  If so I have not been able to find it on that topic website.  If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Regards locum

Sounds like my hot flashes too! My doc is totally clueless to this type of hot flash symptom. But that's exactly what is is. I'm 42 and I've been going through this for about a year now. My skin feels like it's on fire. Like I have sunburn. It start's in my face, then goes to my upper chest, arms, and lower legs. And drives me crazy!! You can see it, but it's there none the less. If I were to blow across my skin it would even irritate it. And these come and go on and off for a few days then I won't feel anything for a couple of weeks, if I'm lucky.

I'm trying to find another ob/gyn who agrees with me. Good luck to you.

Hi there! It sure sounds like my hot flashes:) When I went to my doctor & he diagnosed me with menopause I told him that I was apprehensive about taking hormones (estrogen) so he said he had some success with giving his patients an extremely low dose (it doesn't even look like theres anything in the syringe lol) of testosterone. I was like ok......but guess what? It works!!! about every 3 weeks I get it and goodbye hot flashes!!!  and so far I have not grown hair or anything like i thought I would even though I was assured it was such a low dose it wouldn't happen. I hope this helps:)
