I NEED SOME ANSWERS

I have been on HRT for almost 7 years.  Two years ago I tried to get off, but just couldn't.  I tried again last Feb. and got down to taking 1/4 of my normal dose.  I started feeling bad again, night sweats, mood swings, anxiety attacks.  Then I started noticing that my hair was getting very thin.  I went back to the Dr. and she said that I just was one who could not go without the estrogen, so I went back on my HRT.  She also tested my Thyroid and when the blood work came back she said that I have an under-active thyroid and put me on Synthroid.  She said that it would take several months, but that my hair would be fine.
I am just wondering if anyone else has had a problem like this?  Will my hair get back to normal?  I haven't noticed any big clumps falling out or anything like that, it's just a gradual thinning.
Thanks for any help you can share wtih me.

I have not had that problem but I have done hair on many women who have. The biggest cause of hair lose is that it goes into a resting stage when taking some medications. The good thing is that once you get your meds regulated your hair should start growing back. I don't know which HRT you are taking but, I take the injections. I chose those because they are not a steady medication in your system. So you have more control. They start out strong and then fade out so you just get one whenever you need it. I can honestly say that I have had no problems at all.

I had the same problem. The mood swings and anxiety attacks may be your thyroid and not just your menopause.  Wait the few months, yes your hair will come back, and then try getting off the HRT again, gradually. Having your thyroid adjusted can do the trick. It did for me Good luck let me knw how you did. br7475.
