i am 49 and have hot flashes and have not had a period in14 mo. i have repet hart beats

The common definition for true menopause is when we have gone an entire calendar year without a period. Congradulations seem to be in order for you!

The hot flashes and, if you get them, the night sweats, can last for quite awhile but unless they get so bad they are disrupting your life, the best thing to do in my opinion is just figure out ways that work for you to deal with it.

Menopause is NOT a disease or a disorder that requires medical intervention. It is a totally natural change in a woman's life and while it can come with a few unpleasant side effects, it's a chapter of our lives we should celebrate.

It looks like you were going to say something about your heart........? I hope you will post again so we can address what else may be bothering you.
