Connection between penis and anal symptoms?

Folks;

Has anyone who has prostatitis or shrinking peen syndrome also had anal problems as well?  I've noticed that in conjunction with the prostatitis I have had pretty bad anal fissures as well.

Yeah, I agree the cystoscopy would have detected gross (large) stones.  But the microscopic ones have to be found in a urinalysis.

Have you ever seen one of these small stones?  They are covered with spikes.  I wonder if they're causing some of my urethral irritation.  I'm going to do some research on this.  Yossarian, when you go to your urologist why don't you see if he can look for crystals.  There are several different kinds, I still need to find out what mine are.

I'll be going to a urologist in a week.  I'll definitely post any findings then.  I did get a routine urinalysis last week when I was at the doctor, but they didn't find antyhing major.  My PSA was 0.9, and the reference range was 0.0-3.0, so that was well below average.  A digital exam found my prostate to be very slightly "boggy", but otherwise unremarkable.

They did find something unusual in my urine, however.  They said I had a moderate amount of calcium crystals in it, which led my doc to believe I either had a kidney stone lodged in my urethra or was prone to forming kidney stones.  Have you had any test for said crystals Yossarian?

Yes, I had pain in my penis too.  Very odd pain, and hard to describe.  Almost like an ache that would spread to my testicles.  But there was some burning involved too.  And my penis felt swollen (yet non-erect) and sore.  Sometimes I felt shooting pains, but mostly just a dull ache.

I cant remember, did you say you got pain in your penis?

Any news yet about an appointment?  I've got a follow-up visit with a urologist but it's not until June.  Doesn't matter really as I'm sure he wont tell me anything new and wont be able to offer any explanation or treatment

Same here Yossarian - when the roids are painful, got worse shrinkage, and the vibrating peen came back (had been gone for a year!)

This condition is so bizarre.  Wonder how much is circulatory and how much is bacterial/fungal/outside cause?

I wonder if anyone else has similar symptoms to us AFOD.

Corpus cavernosum = the bulk of the spongy tissue in the penis, which is where the blood goes when you have an erection.

that sounds just like me. when I have constipation or diarrea my scrotum gets extreamly small and my penis is tiny.
What do you mean by corpus cavernosum?

Thanks for the responses guys!

Yossarian:  do your piles tend to be noticeably worse when your scrotum and penis are shrinking?

AFOD2000:  you sound like me - I notice that when I am having moderate to severe pain, the entire genital area feels tightened and shrunk.  For instance, my scrotum draws up extremely tight, and my testicles go back up into my abdomen it feels like.  My penis, on the other hand, feels swollen and painful, but it's small.  Then, when the pain goes away, I usually relax, and the testes come back out and the penis becomes fully flaccid again.  Almost feels like I am retaining blood in the corpus cavernosum when I have that tight scrotum.

Yes, I have.
I think the two are connected.
When I have bowell trouble (which I notice at the same time as the shrinkage) my scrotum and penis shrink to a very small size.
