Hi Stormy, So your having a small problem with what could be a man boob see if this helps, All individuals, whether male or female, possess both female hormones (estrogens) and male hormones (androgens). During puberty, levels of these hormones may fluctuate and rise at different levels, resulting in a temporary state in which estrogen concentration is relatively high. Studies regarding the prevalence of gynecomastia in normal adolescents have yielded widely varying results.
But if you still have worries the get to you family doctor.
Good Luck
I understand the hormone thing.
However, I don't understand why you mention puberty and adolescence. As I posted, I am 24 and quite sure I am no longer in puberty. This is worrying me because I can't think of a good reason I should have it.
Hi Stormy, This was just from notes, things I pick up, its just how things go, so if your stillworried then just get off and see your doctor, you can even show him what I sent you.
Good Luck
No, thank you Nohard for responding.
I am planning on going to a doctor very soon. The thing that is really frustrating me is not knowing WHY I have this. I understand it's caused by a hormone imbalance, but I want to know WHY I would have that. I don't really fit into any of the categories of people who would "commonly" get this.
Hi Stormy, Sorry its just a part of lifes mystery's, and very hard to explane and why just one person can get this or anything.
Good Luck
Okay, so an update.
As I said in my original post, I was told I had gynecomastia after an ultrasound.
Last week, the clinic ran a few tests to try to see what was going on: I was given an exam for testicular cancer, and had blood drawn to check levels of testosterone and estrogen, as well as check thyroid function. The testicular exam revealed no abnormalities.
What I found more interesting was the result of the blood tests: they all came back normal. Normal. Now, at this point I'm really having a difficult time understanding this: it has always been my understanding that, while gyno may have several root causes, the reason it shows up is because a man has an estrogen level that is too high, whatever the reason.
If I DON'T have an increased estrogen level, how can I have gyno???
Can anyone help me understand this?
Hi Sotrmy, But when you first got the pain your hormons might been a bit out of wack then, but not now, sonds odd but could have happend.
A question, have you ever taken Marijuana in any form, it's from some research I've done on this for you?
Could my hormones really have spiked badly enough to cause gyno and then go back down to normal in the span of a couple months?
And to answer your question, I have tried it a few times, but that was years ago; I decided I didn't like it that much, so haven't touched it since then.
Hi Stormy, its because it may be a part of your problem, you really need to read up about it, try doing as much research as you can .
Good Luck
Wait, what are you saying I should research? The marijuana? I really doubt that's a part of it, I only ever did it like 3 times, all of which were years ago.
Also, it feels like it is still slowly getting bigger... but if I don't have high estrogen levels, why would it continue to grow??
Hi Stormy, First Marijuna, if you body had a reaction to it then you may have got the same result from just 1 joint OK
Man boob getting bigger, the see your doctor and find out how to get it sorted.
Good Luck
Yea... I have a Dr appointment in a couple weeks, but wish it was sooner.
I just noticed that if I push down really firmly on the hard disc a bit of fluid seems to leak out of the top of the nipple. From my research it doesn't seem that this is often connected to gyno.
I just don't understand why it would continue to grow if my estrogen was normal. Just doesn't make sense, because estrogen is what MAKES it grow. I really think this might be some sort of an infection, but no one seems to want to consider that.
