Peeling back foreskin

Slightly gross question here, but thank you:
Right, so I'm an 18 year old male who only discovered 2 days ago that the foreskin is supposed to peel back when erect. I thought it was normal that the foreskin stayed covering it. I looked online and the suggestions were to peel it back everyday for a few months until it does it naturally.

I started doing it yesterday, and around the base of the head was a lot of white/yellow Smegma (I found the name online, and I was never told to wash under there as an adolescent). I'm trying to peel it back and to wash it, but the head is very sensitive.

Shall I just carry on with my actions? Peeling back and washing? How long will it take until the foreskin naturally peels back? Will the tenderness/sensitiveness of the head go away? Thank you

Hi Me thats OK and as its starts to get harder just carry on, and when soft thats the time to start streaching the skin side ways if you can, the more you get used to doing the better and easer it will get.
Let us know how its going.

Keep doing it daily. It should go back hard or soft but since you have not done it before it may take a while on hard to be comfortable with it. Most guys I know just peel it back and leave it until it goes back to covering the head by itself.
The more you keep peeling it back the better off you are going to be.
You MUST the head clean or it will smell and you are prone to various diseases which is not a good thing.  Keep pulling

So far I've only been able to do it when soft? Is that to be expected? When hard it was much much tighter

Hi Me, just carry on with what you are doing, its really healthy thing to do, and should cut back on the sensitiverty the more you do it, and why its soapy just try slowly streaching it, the foreskin that is, as this will help you acheve you ami in getting it looser round the head.
Good Luck
