Tongue scum

by scoutpilot, May 12, 2006 12:00AM
Every morning I have a stubborn crud on my tongue.  It takes a special tongue scraper and a lot od pressure to get it off.  Once off, my breath is improved and my mouth feels cleaner.  I know this is gross, but I don't know how else to explain it.  I read somewhere that this is do to a sluggish liver.  Is that true and how do I get this to stop?  I don't of anyone else who has this problem and it doesn't matter what I eat.

Thanks

You should consult your dentist. There are a few products available to help loosen the "scum" before using the tongue scraper. That is one of the most common causes of bad breath, but have never heard a correlation to liver problems.

Hi,You may have a thyroid problem.Get it checked if its ok,then you may have some dental work that need looking at.Another thought is the fact you make not be drinking enough water.Good luck.
