10 year old with headache for 3 weeks

Hi,  I have a ten yr old who has been having headaches for 3 weeks, and they don't seem to get better.  He continues to function with paracetamol and ibuprofen, but being worried I took him to the doctor who did a blood test.  His white blood globules are at 2.3 10 3/mm3, with Neutrophiles 676 / mm3, and lymphocytes at 1070 /mm3.  Everything else seems quite normal although his alkaline  phosphatase are at 194 UI/I, which with growth could be normal (I think).  Anyway am I worrying for nothing, perhaps this is some virus.  He also has some diahorrea, although this may be unrelated.  The laboratory suggest that we redo the blood test in two weeks, but I just wanted to make sure that there is nothing more I should be doing at this time...  Thanks, worried mummy.

Thank you for your reply.  I get his eyes tested anually, which he had done in May, all Ok.  His glands are up, and occasional cold symptoms, and he is quite washed out, lower levels of energy than normal, but we have gone through big changes this year, new school, language, so would expect some of that.  Will go back to the doctor and then in a week we can get the tests redone.  Thanks again.

Hi, does he has any associated symptoms like fever, vomitting, cold. have you checked his vision. its better you can repeat the tests after 2 weeks and consult your physician and also ENT and optholmologist once, til then continue paracetomol as required.
