Chronic Daily headache

I have had a tension type headache for three months now.  It sometimes gets better and sometimes gets worse.  It defintely gets worse around my period.  I am on 200 mg of Topomax (topamax), 8 mg of Zanaflex and 750 mg of Naproxen.  It does nothing.  When I call the dr. he just ups the medications.  I do not know what else to do. I have three young kids and I ammeking their lives miserable along with my husband.  I am getting desperate.  I cannot be the only person who does not respond to medications.  I have also tried the usual migraine meds like frova and relpax.  That does nothing either.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Please help!

Hi,
How are you? I do understand your concerns. Headaches are indeed often associated with hormonal changes such as during menstruation.  If ice packs and prescription medications do not help, complementary and alternative medicine  like biofeedback, self-hypnosis and other relaxation techniques may help. Talk to your doctor about this.  Take care and do keep us posted.
