Vomit only Migraine

My 13 year old had epilepsy for 7 years and has grown out of it.  He now gets migraines with vomiting and nausea.  These will occur sometimes after a stressfull week when we are doing something fun like after a baseball game or camping at boy scouts.  Sometimes he only vomits and there is not a headache.  He is not sick before or after the vomiting so I do not thing he has a flu.  This usually happens about 10 minutes after falling asleep - in the tent!  Could this really be a migraine even though there is not head pain?

Hi.

Migraine headaches may be associated with nausea and vomiting. There are instances wherein migraine with auras may only present with an aura without an associated headache. Vomiting is not considered a migraine aura. At this point, I suggest that you seek consult with a neurologist for a complete assessment.

Strenuous activities, heat, and extreme emotions may cause dizziness, headaches , vomiting at some point especially if the child has sensitivity to heat, certain food and other external triggers. However, with a history of epilepsy, it will be necessary to have this further evaluated. If this has occurred several times ,then a migraine headache shall only be given as a diagnosis once other conditions have been ruled out.

Eye problems, sinus headaches, indigestion, may be differentials here.
